About Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is an international ministry that distributes donated shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items to children around the world. Since 1993, more than 220 million children in more than 170 countries have received an Operation Christmas Child shoe box. The project delivers not only the joy of what, for many kids, is their first gift ever, but also gives them a tangible expression of God’s love. Tens of thousands of volunteers from local churches around the world partner to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ at festive outreach events where children are surprised with these shoe box gifts.

Family Church has served as an Operation Christmas Child Drop-Off Location for over 15 years. Not only does our student ministry and individual members put together and donate their own boxes, but our team of volunteers receive, sort, pack up and deliver boxes from the surrounding community to a processing center for final shipping. This beloved annual Family Church commitment requires a lot of planning, hard work and dedication, and they love serving in this ministry!

The week of November 18-25, 2024, 14 Family Church volunteers worked a total of 102 1/2 hours. In addition, 138 shoe boxes were filled and donated by Family Church! We processed a total of 243 cartons with 3631 shoeboxes during the 2024 collection week, which blew last year's record out of the water by nearly 800 boxes!
