What can I expect?

What's the culture like at Family Church?

Services at Southeast Polk Family Church are pretty relaxed and informal. Dress is generally casual and the conversation is warm and engaging. It's kind of like your typical family get-together! Expect to be greeted at the door where you will receive a friendly smile and a warm welcome. We will have the coffee ready and waiting for you! We are a family that loves and cares for each other, and we enjoy spending time together. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

How long is a service?

In total, a Family Church service is approximately 60-75 minutes in length. Services begin with the Family Church band leading the church in music - song lyrics are projected onto the screens so you can sing along and/or engage with worship however you feel most comfortable. Our service consists of a time of praise through music, prayer and sharing upcoming activities, then one of our pastors will share an encouraging and hope-filled message about Jesus. We take communion together the first Sunday of each month.

What about my kids?

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and at Family Church, we make this a priority.

In response to the various needs of our members, visitors, and community, we have options available for all families according to their level of comfort. Our Nursery and Kids Church programs are available during the message portion of each Sunday service. The Nursery is available for infants and toddlers 0-35 months. Children's Church is available for kids age 3 through Grade 5. Both can be found in the Fellowship wing, and our greeters will be happy to direct you! Nursery is available through the entire service. Kids 3 and up will remain with your during the first half of the services, then you will be dismissed to escort your kids to Children's Church at the appropriate time.

We also provide "Family Tables" in the service, where parents and kids can sit together as a family, with activity bags provided to keep your children engaged each Sunday morning for those who prefer to keep their children with them during the service.

The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a secure check-in process for our Kids (0-5th Grade) program. To help make your initial experience quick and secure, please plan a few minutes extra to fill out our Kids Ministry registration form. You will be asked to show an ID when you pick up your children for the first week only. After that, the secure printed nametag-based process is fast and easy! Check-in can be done at the booth in the fellowship wing before the service begins, or when you bring your kids back to Children's Church.
